The Loves of the Poets by Joseph Mills
Bettina Rheims was born in Paris in 1952. She started photographing striptease artists and acrobats in the late 1970s. Far from being simple reportage, this work reconstructed the world of her models in the studio. There were
already hints of what was to come, from her skill in scene-setting to her predilection for portrait treatment of the
female nude. Hamiltons recently exhibited Bettina Rheims' latest body of work Morceaux Choisis, which coincided with the
launch of her limited edition book of the same title.
