    Keys to Effective Addiction Treatment

Available Beds Addicts are often uncertain about entering treatment, so it's crucial to have a spot ready when they are willing. In its first year, the Family Recovery Program had the money to reserve 250 spots in programs across Maryland. State-funded programs provide 17,000 slots, but an estimated 346,000 alcoholics, (Alcohol Addicts), and drug addicts needed treatment in the past year, according to a state analysis.

Medical Detoxification Medical professionals manage the acute physical withdrawal, but this is rarely enough to ensure long-term abstinence.

The Right Program No single treatment works for everyone. Programs must be assessed continually and modified to meet addicts' changing needs. Relapse is common and often part of recovery. (but not a requirement - just a reality with the disease - society's denial and an enabling excuse)

Behavioral treatments teach addicts to change their attitudes and behaviors. They learn to recognize cravings and identify high-risk situations and to develop ways to cope.

Treatments include outpatient care, which often relies on 12-step programs, (Narcotics Anonymous) family therapy and a range of incentives to keep addicts from relapsing.

Residential treatment is used in severe cases and involves keeping patients for six to 12 months to teach them how to live without drugs. SOURCE: National Institute on Drug Abuse

  • I wanted to get the message out that any addict could get clean, stop using drugs and find a new way to live.

My personal life experience can be a living example to help educate the public that addiction is a humanistic

disease from which the addict and family members suffer no matter what supportive opportunities are given. The

disease of addiction is completely profound in the aspect that help can only be obtained through a miraculous

process of Recovery otherwise known as Grace. I share about the horrors of my life and how wonderful my

life has become today. In the spirit of recovery my contribution is exemplified by the selfless effort of helping

other addicts find and achieve recovery. Today my goal is to help others unconditionally and to be a part of the

solution rather than the problem. My understanding is my contribution will help alleviate the pain and suffering

of addicts and those close to addicts by being exposed to this work of art. My motive was to bring to light the

love and truth about the feelings of an addict who has found joy, happiness and freedom. This is the recovery

revolution that is going on right now.

  • Hey Wonderful Person, be Happy Joyous and Free.
If you are an addict ?
    You Don't need (have) to S M O K E anything , EAT healthy ,
Don't DRINK any Methadone , Moonshine
or SWALLOW any PROZAC, Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor, (ANTI-depressant) tablets,
    SSRI (Selective Serrotonin Reuptake Inhibitors),
    Luvox (OCD),
    HUFF Anything, Take X
or use any of the new drugs that are being invented everyday,( Anti-Anxiety Drugs,
Anti-Psychotic Drugs, Anti-depressant Drugs, Mood Stabilizing Drugs).
The PDR keeps getting fatter each year,
    the answer is
    Spiritual not Chemical

    TRY GOD (SPIRIT) instead
stay clean and find a new way to live ,
there is hope for any addict.
    You are no different,
we can survive our emotions clean together and grow. TRY clean first.
The chances are you are the problem and and total abstinence is the cure. Changes will happen overnight.
Once you are clean and you still can't face life without drugs, then any psychiatrist can load you up with the latest chemical and the viscious cycle will progress to misery, degradation, dereliction, jails , institutions and death. If you keep doing what you are doing, you'll keep getting what you are getting. Help is a call away. (202) 299-4919 . The Last time miracle growth occured on any of these pages was around 2.26.2007...
    Have a great Day!

And remember God (SPIRIT) Loves You
